Reflecting on a year of library demonstrations
Fighters, Families, and Friends,
As I began to throw the colorful laundry load of red, blue, orange and yellow jerseys into the wash, I was reflecting on the level of success that American Boffer has experienced with its free monthly demos. Today was a quiet milestone for American Boffer, we just completed our first full year of demos. That marks one year of fighting experience for some of our young foam fighters; while some others are just getting their feet in the door.
The Meridian Library on Cherry Lane has granted us a space to provide this amazing activity event on a regular basis, for which we are grateful. We began working with the library back in March of 2024. Today marks the official end of our first year sharing youth boffer sports with the treasure valley. In the beginning, we had regular attendance from a few family friends. Only one year later, our fighters got to work with and fight against 20 other attending fighters.
I couldn’t be more excited to see the possibilities of what the future of this sport holds. We will always continue our free monthly demos as a baseline for American Boffer’s mission. With that said, the Meridian Library will be continuing to support us until they start their remodel around May. The remodel will provide us with a larger and safer environment to bring on the growing number of fighters. However, our demos will not end with the remodel. We are working with some new locations to be sure to have a continued series of free demos for both the fighters and the spectating families. As always, we will keep you up to date as we confirm our new location.
Stay bold,
American Boffer
